PLANNING AND GOAL SETTING FOR A BRILLIANT DANCE SEASON - Planning and goal setting go hand in hand and should be a seamless part of your teaching process. The key is to create plans that align your goals, your student’s goals, and your studio’s goals. When your goals and plans are clear, accountability increases, focus improves, and you and your students become more adaptable when life throws in a few snags along the way. The key takeaways from this training session aim to give you insight into an easy lesson planning formula, and added tools for goal setting activities that help bring goals, actions, and accomplishments to the forefront of your dance season.
CREATING MEMORABLE DANCES FROM CONCEPT TO STAGE - What’s in a dance? A lot, actually! As choreographers, you know it takes more than a few dance moves to create memorable dances. In this training session, you’ll gain insight into different ways to find inspiration for your choreography, and gain access to formula that helps you to seamlessly take your dances from concept to stage.
THE 5 P’S - PREPARING FOR PEAK PERFORMANCE - James Baker said “Proper preparation prevents poor performance” and this couldn’t ring truer for dancers. Preparation isn’t limited to technical execution or remembering choreography. It incorporates performance and audience connection, mindset prep, and for dancers who compete, understanding what the adjudicator is looking for. This session covers those exact topics to help better equip you and your dancers with the tools needed for peak performance.
FEEDBACK, ACCOMPLISHMENTS AND CELEBRATING DANCE - Understanding how to receive, breakdown, and explain feedback to your dancers is an important ingredient for the growth of your students. Likewise, knowing how to take that feedback and turn it into celebration, motivation and inspiration is an asset to every teacher-dancer relationship. In this session, you’ll learn just that – how to understand and apply feedback from peers and adjudicators, and how to deliver constructive feedback to your dancers to create an environment of confidence and longevity in dance.
